Welcome to the next instalment of our “Living with Passion Interview Series”.
I know you like to be inspired as much as I do, so I’m bringing you some great people, and together we’re going to get to know why they do what they do, what ‘Living with Passion’ means to them, and hopefully take away some great insights.
Today’s guest is Brianna Wilkerson. Brianna is a Holistic Health and Success Coach and a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA Essential Oils. She is the founder of MadeWell, an online coaching practice where she combines her love for holistic health, personal development, and business to help women transform their lives in every area.
Brianna knows a lot about Living With Passion, having taken the leap from her senior accounting position to full time entrepreneur, doing what she truly loves and making a difference in the lives of others. She’s not new to helping others, as she is the proud recipient of the 2016 Young Caymanian Leadership Award, recognized for her dedication to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and for mentoring college students.

Meet Brianna Wilkerson:
G4W: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE LIVING WITH PASSION? WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE, AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU?
Brianna: To me, living with passion means living your life with a purpose you feel joy and conviction about at the same time. Passion is all about feeling so much joy, conviction, and emotion inside that you are willing to move forward and act upon that passion no matter what the cost.
Personally, passion to me looks like waking up each day with committed intention, excellence and focus to fulfill the purpose God has placed on my life, and for that day. I work intentionally to serve clients and customers and create authentic relationships that make an impact on people’s lives and this world.
And at the same time, I try to inspire others to live with passion and purpose as I know each woman and man I work with and come into contact with, has a beautiful purpose that just needs to be ignited by a flame.
G4W: WHEN DID YOU KNOW THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO?
Brianna: I first started out Made Well as a health coaching business, knowing that I wanted to help others in their health. Based on my own experience and relationship with food, I knew that others also struggled the same way and knew that the hope I had found in eating real, whole foods and following more of a Paleo and Whole30 diet, was the hope other people needed to have and experience as well.
So back in 2015 I signed up for a program to become a health coach and slowly made my way out of accounting into coaching full time. Now, I also approach health from a more holistic approach and offer purpose/life coaching and business coaching to women who are ready to pursue their passion and purpose in life and/or as a business. I also support women in educating and empowering them around using natural solutions like essential oils in their home, but also if they too want to incorporate that into their business and make income doing that, I mentor them as well.
So all that to say, I think finding your passion or purpose takes time and experiences. You may not know what you want to do or feel passionate about right away, but as time goes on, pay attention to what lights up your heart and that will be a key place to start.
G4W: CAN YOU TELL US WHAT KINDS OF OBSTACLES YOU’VE HAD TO OVERCOME WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED OUT ON THIS JOURNEY?
Brianna: Confidence in myself was one of the biggest barriers I experienced first starting out. Moving from a secure job in accounting to one that I wasn’t sure at the time would be able to be a full-time position for me, was super scary. I asked myself if I had what it took EVERY DAY. But, over time the overwhelming desire to do what I love full time and be able to impact women in their health, purpose, business and life, consumed me to the point that I decided that no matter what, I was going to make it full time as a coach. I gave myself a date and a year later, left my accounting job to be a coach full time.
Some other obstacles include others’ voices on whether you can be successful, especially family. Your family wants the best for you and it’s scary when you step into a passion, purpose, or career that isn’t to the apparent eye “secure.” But you just got to know that they mean well, but don’t let their opinions hold you back.
Another obstacle was my mindset around money. I realized quickly on that I was operating out of a scarcity mindset, and feeling like there would never be enough clients, enough money, enough time, and so on to be able to succeed in my business long term. So, I decided to do some serious mindset work by reading books on money, mindset, talking with wealth mentors and coaches, and searching the Bible for what it said around money and creating wealth. And although I’m still working on it, I’ve grown tremendously and have seen my business grow because of it.
G4W: WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY IN YOUR LIFE LOOK LIKE?
Brianna: Mornings are a time for me to get my mind, spirit and soul right! I typically journal, pray, read my Bible, and read some personal development book. I then get caught up on some admin/emails, work on content, and then have my coaching calls! Evenings are designated for the gym, webinars/classes, and time with the husband!
G4W: WHAT MAKES YOU MOST EXCITED?
Brianna: Seeing someone take ONE step forward to transformation in their health, purpose, business and lives. Whether that’s someone signing up for a program, sharing a win they had in their goals and lives, or even pursuing their own health and purpose, it always brings so much joy to my soul.
G4W: WHAT IS(ARE) YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK(S)?
Brianna: I struggle with having all time favorites in just about everything, but my favorite business book at the moment is She Means Business by Carrie Green. I remember reading this book in a season of my life and business where I needed to hear someone’s struggle and success in their entrepreneurship journey, as well as receive encouragement and clarity around my business. And after reading that book and reflecting on her questions, I received all that and more! I definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of starting a business or a project that serves others.
G4W: WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE NEXT COUPLE YEARS?
Brianna: To impact more women through health, purpose and business coaching and train more women in the doTERRA essential oils business side. Also start a family and go on a trip to Europe!
G4W: IF YOU COULD MAKE ONE CHANGE IN THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Brianna: Women walking more confidently in who they are, caring for themselves holistically, and making an even BIGGER impact on this world.
G4W: DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO DO SOMETHING SIMILAR BUT IS HELD BACK BY DOUBTS, FEARS OR NAYSAYERS?
Brianna: YES! I know it’s scary and tough and the fear of failure may overwhelm you, but know this – you already have what it takes to succeed, you just need to believe that. The only thing two things that are going to propel you forward is FAITH and ACTION. I’m here rooting for you and if you ever want someone to support you in your health, purpose, business or life, let me know – I would love to be that support for you.
G4W: IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD BEFORE WE WRAP THIS UP?
